Privacy Policy

Draft. This is a working document describing how Driive currently handles data. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not legal advice. Have it reviewed before launch.

What we collect

  • Account data: your email address, display name if you provide one, and whether your address is verified.
  • Storage data: the files and folders you upload, and how much space they use.
  • Device data: for each computer you connect — a device name, platform, architecture, app version, and when it was last seen.
  • Billing data: subscription status and plan. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
  • Security logs: sign-in failures, device changes, administrative actions and similar events.

How we do not use your files

Driive does not scan or analyse the contents of your files for advertising or AI training. File contents are not used to build advertising profiles about you, and personal data is not sold.

Where your data lives

Files are stored in an EU-jurisdiction object storage bucket. Account and subscription records are held in Firebase (Google Cloud). Payments are processed by Stripe.

Processors we use

  • Cloudflare R2 — file storage (EU jurisdiction)
  • Google Firebase — authentication and account records
  • Stripe — payment and subscription processing
  • Hetzner — the gateway server that moves your files

Retention

While your subscription is active we keep your files as long as you keep them. If a subscription ends, your drive becomes read-only and you can download or delete your files during the retention window. After that window, data is scheduled for deletion unless you reactivate. Deleting your account starts the same process immediately, and it cannot be undone.

Your rights

You can access, export and delete your data from within Driive at any time. If you are in the EU/EEA you also have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR. Contact us to exercise them.
